Camp Swatara (Bethel, PA) is seeking a Program Manager. This is a year-round, full-time, salaried position based on an average of 45 hours per week with many hours during the summer season and more regular hours in the fall, winter, and spring. A major focus of this position is the co-ed summer camp program which runs week-long sessions for approximately 10 weeks in June-August for children and youth in 1st-12 grade. Youth camps include traditional camp activities, special interest programs, more primitive outdoor living skill opportunities, and trip camps. We also offer 3 weeks of camps for intellectually disabled adults. From September-May, a variety of year-round program opportunities are offered including adult birding trips, camp-sponsored weekend retreats, challenge course groups, and special day events. The Program Manager is responsible to oversee the planning and implementation of all of these program opportunities, including recruiting, hiring, and training additional staff and volunteer support, coordinating publicity and promotion, and ensuring that all supplies, equipment, transportation, food service, aquatics, and other needs are provided. In addition, during the fall, winter, and spring seasons, the Program Manager assists in other areas of camp operation (food service, housekeeping, family camp, buildings and grounds, etc.) in order to maintain full-time work. Camp Swatara (Bethel, PA) is seeking an Executive Director. We are in need of filling this position by May of 2019. Please be aware that this is an executive position: we are looking for a CEO/CFO for a non-profit Christian camping ministry with a million dollar budget. The camp includes a summer resident camping ministry, a family campground, and year-round retreat facilities.
Camp Swatara employs a year-round full-time Program Manager who develops and oversees the summer program, a Buildings and Grounds Manager, a Family Camp Manager, an Office Manager, a Food Service Manager and a Housekeeping Manager. It is the Executive Director’s job to provide oversight for all of these areas, as well as manage and coordinate staff.
The Executive Director will also be responsible for marketing Camp Swatara to bring immediate growth by increasing our user groups. Development and fundraising are important components of this position, as this will help secure the future of Camp Swatara. A full job description is attached.
