About the Job
Executive Director
Camp Swatara is seeking a mission-driven leader to serve as its next Executive Director — a unique, residential calling at the intersection of ministry, leadership, and community.
Nestled on 700+ acres at the base of Blue Mountain, Camp Swatara is a vibrant, faith-based nonprofit serving campers, retreat groups, and families year-round. Rooted in the Church of the Brethren tradition, the camp exists to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and live lives of discipleship.
The Opportunity
This role is not just a job — it is a deeply relational, all-in leadership calling. The Executive Director serves as the primary steward of Camp Swatara’s mission, overseeing ministry, staff, operations, finances, and development, while living on-site as part of the camp community.
On any given day, you may be:
Casting vision with the board
Mentoring staff and volunteers
Engaging donors and partner churches
Overseeing operations across camp, retreat, and campground programs
Welcoming guests and fostering a culture of hospitality
Who You Are
A committed Christian aligned with Anabaptist values
A relational leader who builds trust across diverse communities
Comfortable managing complexity across people, programs, and resources
Experienced (formally or informally) in leadership, finance, fundraising, and team development
Drawn to a lifestyle where ministry and daily life are deeply intertwined
