Gather 'round the campfire and pull up a chair to the table for an evening of food and fun!  We'll have a carry-in dinner starting at 5:30 pm with camp friends invited to bring a favorite dish featured in one of the Camp Swatara Cookbooks or that was part of their experience at camp.  Camp staff will also prepare some of camp's signature dishes to enjoy.  Then for dessert we'll have a homemade ice cream "churn-off" competition with special guest taste-testing judges and plenty of yummy treats for everyone!  Mixed throughout the evening will be special stories, songs, and poems from camp's history with a special emphasis on camp's family-style meals, cookouts, mountainside cooking, kitchen staff, and snacks.

On July 22, 1943, a group hiked the hills and woods of the current camp property surveying it as a possible site for a new camp. By the end of the day, they were in agreement that this was the spot!  Relive this walk in the woods 75 years later on Sunday, July 22nd with Camp Historian, Jon Wenger. Jon will share parts of the history of camp that happened in various locations as the group hikes together on camp's extensive trail system.

Are you a "Swatara Sweetheart"?  This event is especially for couples who met, got engaged, were married, or honeymooned at Camp Swatara, but ALL couples who consider themselves "Swatara Sweethearts" are welcome! Appetizers will be available starting at 4:30pm, followed by a delicious dinner, and special entertainment!  Cost is $75 per couple. 

Limited overnight accommodations for Friday and/or Saturday nights are available on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional charge.
