Food Service
Camp Swatara has two dining halls in the East Area that will feed up to 200 people each. both dining halls are winterized, and one is air conditioned. All rental groups using camp food service will eat in one of these two areas.
Rental groups may provide their own food service using the kitchens or kitchenettes located in their rental facility. Rental groups can not cook in the East Lodge kitchen.
Please Note: Camp Swatara cannot provide partial food service for rental groups.
All meals must be either self prepared or contracted with camp food service.
Equipment AvailableThe following equipment is available for rental groups upon request:
- AV Equipment - TV/VCR, overhead projectors & screens. There is a PA system available in the East Lodge.
- Recreational Equipment - volleyball, 4-square balls, table tennis, basketball, soccer ball, shuffle board, softball.
- Blackboard and flip chart
- Hymnals, Bibles, and other resources in the camp library.
Reservation ProceduresAll reservations are handled by the Camp Administrator in the camp office. Call or write using the contact information on that page of web site.
A one year advance registration is suggested. Availability of facilities with less than 90 day's notice is unlikely for larger groups.
A reservation deposit from $50.00 to $500.00 and a signed contract is required for each reservation. Deposit varies depending on group size and length of stay.
Groups canceling a reservation with less than 90 days notice will lose their reservation deposit. Groups canceling with less than 30 days notice will forfeit half of the projected rental fee.
Groups may rent any or all facilities listed depending on group size and availability.
Camp Swatara is especially interested in, and most suited to serve Christian groups such as church boards, youth groups, Sunday school classes, Bible study groups, family reunions, church picnics, church family events and banquets.
