Mentally Challenged Adults Age 16 and Older
These special weeks of camp are offered for adults that are mentally challenged. Campers are able to experience the joys of camp in a safe environment that accommodates their needs. Campers will participate in arts and crafts, nature, campfires, singing, swimming, and Bible times. Campers must be 16 years of age or older and may only attend one of the two weeks. There will be one counselor available for each 2 –3 campers. These counselors are NOT specially trained professionals and we therefore are unable to accept any campers with major behavioral problems. Because of the camp facilities and layout, we can only accept campers who are able to transport themselves without the assistance of wheelchairs, crutches, or walkers. Campers must be able to move from activity to activity without difficulty. Registration begins at 2:30 pm on Sunday and camper pick up is at 9:30 am on Saturday.
Special Registration Instructions for Monarch Campers:Please complete the registration form and mail it to camp with your registration deposit. When we receive this form, we will send you a Health History Form, Special Monarch Camp Application, and a medication form. These must be completed and returned to camp as soon as possible. The camper is only accepted for the camp after ALL paperwork has been received and approved by camp staff. At that time, an acceptance letter will be mailed to you to confirm registration and acceptance. Further information will be included with that mailing. |
