Camp Swatara offers a variety of different positions for young adults who need employment during the months of June, July and August. Most of the individuals hired work within the program as cabin counselors or resource staff. Several are hired as lifeguards and yet another group are hired for working in the kitchen, as maintenance assistants or as housekeeping assistants.

Those who wish to work directly with children are hired as cabin counselors and resource staff. These individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a sense of responsibility. A commitment to working with children and sharing a faith in God is also a must.

Younger individuals who would like to work at camp can explore the options of lifeguards, kitchen helpers, maintenance helpers or housekeeping assistants. These positions are typically filled by people age 16 and older. Again, a sense of responsibility is required.

For all positions, applicants must understand that the jobs are demanding but very rewarding. These positions turn into something more than just a summer job. You will make friends that will last a lifetime and make a difference in the life of at least one camper.
